About Us
Who we are:
Beach Bounty Microplastics Incorporated is a Non-Profit Corporation based out of Honolulu, Hawaii. Comprised of a small team of local environmental scientists, and environmentally-minded management and administrative staff, our mission is to help in managing the ongoing issues of microplastic contamination continuing to wash up on the beaches of Oahu.
Government Engagement
BBM is working to form partnerships with the City of Waimanalo, the Hawaiian state government, nearby DOD installations, and Federal grant funding initiatives, in addition to preparing to apply for federal 501(c)(3) public charity tax status, which will allow donations to BBM to be tax-deductible.
Academics
BBM strongly supports environmental research, and is pursuing partnerships with academic institutions and independent researchers to provide access to a strong base of citizen-science derived material samples that can aid in microplastic research investigations.
